Job Description:
The candidate shall plan, develop and publish documentation in
support of fiber optic product developers. The technical writer
will work closely with product developers in the laboratory to
develop source material for instruction practices and reference
manuals for fiber optic interconnection equipment products.
Activity includes close interface with CAD drafting/designers to
translate graphical product representations into line art for
the documents.
This assignment requires the ability to develop and edit graphical
pictorial line art and integrate with text to form print ready
documents. This position will require extensive graphic arts
ability (over 80% of the work will be in graphics).
Desired Skills:
1. Extensive experience on workstation or PC.
2. Desk-top publishing in UNIX environment.
3. Text Formatting via troff or FrameMaker (2 yrs min).
4. Graphical Creation and Editing.
5. Experience with PC Computer Graphics Packages, Island Draw a plus.
6. Technical background/Training
7. AS/BS Engineering degree nice to have, but not necessary.
