I can't stand it anymore, even though this will bring a big "who
cares?"

When I did customer docs, I used Loni Anderson (I wanna look like
that), or Jimmy Smits (love him madly), or Miss Piggy (my role
model), or whomever was in my mind that I judged would be universally
recognized. I realize my choices dated me, but there you are.

At one job I held a while back, we worked on telecom management stuff, and
for sample phone-directory screens and reports in the manuals, we used
names from early New England history. This avoided the problem of creative
infringement without taxing our brains coming up with a lot of fake names.
