that was many moons ago. what I know about Process Modeling is minimal:
that it involves drawing diagrams to capture the functionality and
data flow of a system; that there are various methodologies:
Yourdon/Demarco, Gane & Sarson, etc.; andthe diagrams' complexity
reflects on the depth I want to capture. In addition, I'm using a
software package called System Architect.

Choosing which methodology to use should not be up to you. Your
employer should have software engineering standards that define
which methodologies it uses, and possibly under which
circumstances/types of projects each is used. You should be
working very closely with the system developers on this.

Another system of process modeling is the IDEF family of methods. IDEF3
is a process description capture method and IDEF4 is an
object-oriented design method. There are more, such as IDEF0
(functional method) which I'm attending a class on later this month,
but all these methods are more for modeling management processes,
organizational activities, and work flow. I don't know how, or
if, the IDEF methods would apply to your situation. I'm just
throwing it your way in case the terminology should creep into
your research.
