Regarding the discussion about group work in the technical
writing classroom, there's someone I've been reading for about 5 years now
that has done a great deal of research in this area: Dixie Goswami.
I can't remember the titles of her articles and books, but they usually
include the words "non-academic writing." She's the first
person I knew of who sent writing students out to get "real" work and some
of her studies focus on collaborate writing issues.

If anyone's really interested in the actual titles and can't find her work,
mail me directly and I'll look them up at home.
