Mike LaTorra asked for a defense of FrameMaker against Word for Windows
advocates. I've found that anyone who has used both finds virtue and
drawbacks in both, but would agree that FrameMaker is much better for
long or large (byte size) documents. Word is easier to learn and is more
flexible.

The January 1995 issue of Windows magazine, p. 272, provides an article
titled "Windows Meets the Press" in which FrameMaker and Word, and other
similar programs, are compared. Check it out.
