On Mon, 9 Jan 1995 Margaret Knox asked about the definitions
of "cloud" and "firewall" in the following passages:

and also:

Here are my definitions, based upon experience (i.e., not quoted from
a dictionary):
CLOUD -- an unspecificed number of computers and other devices that
are linked via telecommunications
FIREWALL -- a computer that guards access to a Local Area Network
of other computers in order to protect against invasion
by computer viruses, hackers, and other malevolent entities
