Fellow techwr-ls:

Recently I asked for data that would help me convince my advisor
that my M.A. project work should be in the area of tech. comm.
Boy, did I get data! Thanks to all who responded! In fact I received
so much data (DATA! DATA! Yeah, DATA!) that I haven't combed
through all of it yet.

The good news is that we reached a compromise I can live with. While I still
have to write three papers on topics from the reading list, I can create
problems that go in whatever direction I choose (so long as my
advisory board approves). For example, there's a
category called "Computers in the Classroom." I plan to do something
related to using the internet in writing classes. (In fact, y'll probably
hear from me again after I've done more homework and have specific
questions to ask.)

Again, my thanks to this listing for your help. It's great to have such a
valueable and professional support group at my fingertips!
