Paula Reynolds asked about screen capture programs. I would recommend a
shareware program called Paint Shop Pro. It includes an option that saves
graphics as two-color bitmap (or other format) files. This significantly
reduces the amount of required disk space. Selecting the two-color option
can reduce disk space for a .bmp file to 10-15 percent of the original.
Thus, a 1 MB file would be reduced to 100-150 KB. Through the Color menu,
you can save a file as 2 colors (1 bit), 16 colors (4 bits), 256 colors (8
bits), 32K (15 bits), or 64K (16 bits). Also, you can save the file in a
variety of formats, including .bmp, .clp, dib, mac, msp, pcx, pic, vas, rel,
tga, and tif.
