Actually, back-formation was a variant of the T-formation in use by
some college football teams. The inventor of the back-formation
was Pen Inhand, coach of the Famous Writer's School team that
broke many records, including the most losses and most points scored against.
Most of the players failed to graduate and are reported to be hiding out
from school alumni while working as technical writers. If any of you are
reading this, please send me an e-mail message.

The school discontinued the back-formation after a 112-0 beating
administered by the Slippery Rock Teachers team.
