I certainly agree that permission should be asked to post to another list,
although it is entirely possible that a person might lose track of which
list the message originally came from. As for being rude to include the
whole message in a response, some of us either leave out the whole
conversation, or must include it because of the limitations of our e-mail
software. I write from a variety of systems. Some allow me to scroll
down and be selective. Others do not. I hope that I will not be regarded
as rude because of the limitations of the system I use.
