my experience doesn't come close to 2000 pages, but i did recently finish
converting a 2000+ line matrix in Word 6 to a help file using robohelp it
had to be broken up into two files for robohelp to handle - if i kept it
to one file, robohelp croaked. one of the files was about 2MB and the
other was about 1.5MB. i had to use the HCP.EXE compiler - the HC31.EXE
compiler couldn't handle the size. the size of the files, combined with a
ton of jumps, made for an hour to compile the Help file. but the final
product is as fast as can be.
2000 pages is a lot. graphics can affect that tremendously. if it is 95%
text, you are probably okay, but should break up the files and use the
HCP.EXE compiler.
