How many of you folks are involved with training at your
work place? In what capacity?

Several years ago, we combined technical publications and technical
training services to form one organization. Our intent was to combine
publications and training development and to use a single-pass development
process.
We have gained some quality and efficiency, but haven't really acheived
single-pass development yet. To a large degree, this is because pubs
development is funded by R&D and training development is funded by
training revenue.
We foresee training and documentation being increasingly integrated with
our division's products, thus the seam between the two becomming less
distinct.
Several of our information developers work in both arenas. A few have
never crossed over.
