Noted author, consultant, and STC Fellow, Bill Horton, will give
the keynote address at the fifth annual Society for Technical
Communication (STC) Region 2 Conference, "Staying on Course on
the Information Superhighway," on October 29 in Research Triangle
Park, NC.

His presentation, "O Brave New Media" or "How to Avoid Becoming Road
Kill on the Information Superhighway" is an irreverent look at the
digital this, the electronic that, the Internet multimedia, and the
Information Superhypeway.

Bill Horton has devoted most of his career applying ergonomics and
human factors to find better ways to communicate technical and
business information.

A registered professional engineer and graduate of MIT, Bill Horton
specializes in engineering effective communication media. He is
the author of Designing and Writing Online Documentation and Secrets
of User-Seductive Documents. His most recent book, The Icon Book,
details how to design understandable, attractive icons and visual
symbols.
