Margaret, you may not be aware that "root" is a common systems ID for the
"boss user" or system admin. It's been around many moons, although not as
long as the way you took the word. There's nothing offensive or suggestive
meant by it in this usage.
The meaning you assumed is pretty far out unless you read a lot of historical
fiction, y'know?
