a long. Most English words ending in silent e drop the e when they add an
ending such as ed or ing. Hemingway insisted on the title "A Moveable Feast"
and got away with it because he was a big-name quthor by then, but "movable"
is the form Merriam-Webster prefers "movable." For similar reasons, "scalable"
seems a better choice than "scaleable." WordPerfect's manual thinks so too.
