WOuld anyone care to advise on the following, which came up in a
translation I was working on.

The company sent out a technical update for a series of retrofits on
their machines (machine tools). Some of the retrofits are required,
others are applied only if problems occur with the machines. Now, the
heading was

Retrofit in case of problems

And I don't find that very elegant. I searched a while for a single-word
modifier that would cover it but failed to find one. Any suggestions
about how to handle this?
