Topics: Indexing, Usability of On-line Help, and DTP Software
The Oklahoma Chapter of STC is having a special statewide
meeting on Saturday, March 26, 1994. The program format is a
progression of speakers on three favorite topics.
Topic 1: Indexing
Speaker: Larry Bonura, a professional indexer from
Richardson, Texas, will highlight what makes an
index useful and how to improve your indexes
Topic 2: Usability of Online Documentation--an preview of
Eric's session for Minneapolis
Speaker: Eric Ray, technical information analyst at Oklahoma
State University
Topic 3: Desktop Publishing Software--A four-person panel
will speak on the features of their favorite dtp
packages.
Speakers: Forrest Hall, MerCruiser, on Interleaf; Judy Rudin,
OSU grad student, on FrameMaker; Sharon Harms,
Halliburton, on PageMaker (Mac); Young Kim,
OSU grad student, on PageMaker (Windows).
NOTE: This meeting is also the last opportunity (for OK
chapter members) to receive an Incentive Ticket in our
drawing for free registration to the 41st
Annual Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The winner will
be drawn during this March 26th meeting.
