Subject:Benchmarking your proposal-creation processes From:James Conklin <James_Conklin -at- JJCONKLIN -dot- MB -dot- CA> Date:Fri, 11 Mar 1994 08:24:56 -0600
Are there any consulting or service organizations out there interested in
benchmarking their proposal-creation (or their entire bid creation)
processes? I am especially interested in a benchmarking situation
involving Information Services organizations.
One of my clients is a large IS company with offices across Canada. Their
Winnipeg office employs about 260 people, and this office is in the
process of taking a fresh look at its processes for bidding on and then
implementing projects. They are particularly interested in the "chunk" of
this process that involves putting together proposals.
They are analyzing their current practices, and are interested in
comparing themselves against some similar organizations. Hence my query
on the Internet.
Most of their work involves system management outsourcing deals. They
manage a large datacentre with some mainframes and some UNIX boxes, and
they like to look for situations where they can take over the IS function
for a government department or a large company. They are very successful
in this business. More and more, they are moving into system integration
and network design, implementation and management deals.
I hope this gives you some idea of the complexity of the proposals that
they are delivering.
How about it? Please reply to me directly if you represent (or know of) a
company that might be interested in this benchmarking effort.
