Thanks to all who took the time to answer my question. The answer is
that the usage as quoted is correct (420 gm/L for aerospace topcoats,
350 gm/L for primers). As I understand it, the numbers I quoted measure
emissions per unit of source material rather then per unit of air (one
liter of paint will give off xx amount of VOCs).
