Coincidentally, a co-worker (sorry, the hyphen stays) just handed me
the following clipping from the Calgary Herald. As if in answer to
Patrick's question, here's one pre-teen dropout who's done pretty well
in both TV/print journalism and publishing by the age of 18.
"Take punctuation. When you have to take a breath, that's
where the comma should go. When you light a cigarette, put a
dash; and when you go to the toilet, it has to be a colon."
-- The elements of style, according to British writer
Caitlin Moran, who left school at 11 and now, at 18,
has her own column and television show in London and
is about to publish her second novel, "Kisses, Dreams,
and Amphetamines"
Cheers,
Ken d'Albenas
