The Office of Personnel Management is compiling a training sourcebook.
We are seeking organizations to be included in a catalog of technology
sources. Once the sourcebook is complete, Federal agencies will be able
to find resources that match their particular training needs.
Each agency would make any financial arrangements necessary with the
individual organizations. Types and kinds of umbrella organizations and
services sought for inclusion:
-- Professional associations, trade associations, or consortia that
represent a variety of organizations providing training technology
products and services.
-- Training publications, periodicals, reference documents, and
catalogs that list the training technology products and/or services
of different firms.
-- Electronic data bases and bulletin boards dedicated to training and
development. Resources in the training technology sourcebook will be
categorizd as follows:
-- General (Resources that are involved with all types of training
technology).
-- Interactive Multimedia (Resources dealing with personal computer
systems that present training programs featuring text, graphics,
sound, and motion, and that are responsive to user input).
-- Distance Learning (Resources involved with technologies that allow
communication and training activities among distant sites).
-- On-line (Resources that are related to training technologies that
use computer networks and bulletin boards for training purposes).
-- Video (Resources that use or support videotape applications for
training).
Those meeting the criteria who wish to be listed in the sourcebook
should provide the following information: Address, Contact Numbers -
Phone, Fax, and Data, Contact Name, Description of Organization (not to
exceed three sentences) and Services Provided (not to exceed three
sentences). Program Office Point of Contact: Jeff Zwick, Human
