Fred (and all),
For digests, just send one message to LISTSERV -at- VM1 -dot- UCC -dot- OKSTATE -dot- EDU saying
SET TECHWR-L DIGEST

To return to normal mail,
SET TECHWR-L MAIL

To temporarily turn mail off without getting digests,
SET TECHWR-L NOMAIL

If you have any questions, respond to me off the list.

Greetings-

It seems I broke a rule of writing: Write about what you know about.
Or a rule of tech writing: Try it before you describe it. Well, I'm
going to break it again because I want to get this out right away (and
I don't want digests myself). After another reading of the LISTSERV
reference card, it seems you _may_ need to send 2 commands to
LISTSERV -at- VM1 -dot- UCC -dot- OKSTATE -dot- EDU to get digests _instead_ of single
messages:

SET TECHWR-L DIGESTS
SET TECHWR-L NOMAIL

Will someone who is interested try this and report or someone who knows
more about list servers than I do post an authoritative answer?

Wishing I'd never brought this up... I remain,
Your faithful servant,
-Fred
