A local firm (near San Jose) offers UUCP access to Internet for individuals and
businesses for prices starting at $5.95 per month, which includes software for
a PC or Mac. This is a very good deal. You can have your own domain for
a one-time $35 charge. You could contact them for more information.

Almost all UNIX installations are connected to Internet. There are several
news groups for writers and also job listings.
A good book on Internet is "The Whole InterNet."
I am a Senior member of the STC Silicon Valley chapter.
