I think for tech writers, the key will be whether it's capable of learning. If you've ever written a 500-page maintenance manual where many of the steps are repetitive, an authoring tool that can remember how you worded a step and correct you if your mind drifts off into slightly different phrasing could be useful. As long as it's easy to override it when you need to.
