These are awesome resources. I focus teaching new grads from our local university's tech writing program on using Word styles and templates and I loved all the advice given. I used to teach advanced Word classes and people who've used Word for years don't understand styles and templates to the degree shown in the blog and other resources.

Thank you, Keith, for putting it in one place. I use 2016 Word but didn't see anything that changed that much.

I agree with Lin's advice. Before I retired, I redesigned several templates from scratch. The most time consuming part was setting up the list templates, basically following the instructions on Shawna Kelley's site. After that, I had very few problems with the numbering and bullets.

The other thing to keep in mind is never, ever, paste bulleted or numbered paragraphs with formatting. Always used the paste as unformatted text option and reformat with the paragraph style.
