The main reason I haven't switched is that Microsoft can make changes to the tool any time it wants and the next time I open it, the Wizzywordwidget I use all the time will now be hidden someplace that isn't obvious, I will be under a deadline, and I have to waste time googling where they put it. And sometimes googling doesn't get me that answer.

It happens in the desktop versions as well but usually when you buy a new version. At least with the desktop version, you can choose the day you want to upgrade with the latest changes so you have more control, and you don't have to pay each year for the software. Subscription software benefits the software company more than the user, IMHO.

To the best of my knowledge all of the O365 business licenses include desktop versions of the apps so if you are buying for professional reasons you donât really have to choose.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi All,

I'm upgrading Word -- should I move to the latest installed version or subscribe to Office 365?

All advice much appreciated.

Thanks,

David
