The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I always put the page numbers on the outside as well. If a PDF is
printed duplex (to cut the amount of paper used in half), it's much
easier to find a page by page number when the page number is on the
outside. I have that set up in my templates so it never requires any
extra effort once the template has been developed.
