The title Business Analyst (BA) is a catch-all title. Its anyone who does
analysis of business processes, which is what many TWs do anyway. Ever map
out a business process in Visio? You analysed business. You were a BA

I've been a TW since about '98 and for my current gig at a bank, I was
given the title BA when I started.

It was harder to break into the banking sector than into being a BA. If
you are trying for a position as BA, look through your portfolio and pick
out the things you did that involved analyzing something, then wrote about
it.
