I think "alternative" is being misused and should probably be alternate. Regardless, without "configuration," alternative option or alternate option, the "alt" and "option" may be repetitive, unless the [...] is an alternate to one of multiple options.

After that, "-ing" tends to bother me, so I would want to say "that supports." If the support of [...] is part of the sales pitch, then saying "that supports" is stronger than saying "supporting."

So, "[...] as an option that supports the most common setup and configuration tasks." If this sentence needs more to sell it, then an adverb before "supports" would work. Like, "... enthusiastically supports ..." ...okay, I don't do sales.

Hello All:
I have checked all the thesaurus sites I can think of and have hit a mental block....
In the following sentence I want to replace one of the instances of configuration. Any suggestions?

"....as an alternative configuration option supporting the most common setup and configuration tasks"
Thanks
Megan
