- - - As a professional, you can raise the issue of legibility -- a combination of font choice, plus many things such as line length, white space, content, page size, page layout, etc, etc, etc... And yes, branding and company image. Definitely, as a professional, if you think legibility is an issue, then you have to raise that issue for the benefit of your client - - -.
And that is the issue . . . the lone holdout liked the sans serif because it was "pretty" to him, but that coupled with other issues compounded the readability/legibility issue. . .
Like I said offlist to a few others, I was able to professionally and efficiently resolve many of the issues and the lone holdout had to agree w/ the majority.
I vented my frustration on the list, but not to the client. . . been doing this a long time and I know when and how to approach a client and how to get things resolved, but it doesn't make it easy at times and I would rather vent somewhere else than to the client.
