Hello, WR-L-ers,

Iâm looking for info about a presentation I recall attending within the last few years about creating a dataset of peoplesâ names to use in documentation and to validate applications.

The focus was on coming up with a large dataset of names that were âinternationalizedâ (not just the typical US-centric John/Jane Doe, or strictly Euro-American/Caucasian sounding), were easily recognizable as to first/last name components, were obviously gender-inclusive (again, very language/regional dependent), didnât violate trademarks (so no Mickey Mouse), etc.

This is likely an Intelligent Content Conference topic (2013 or 2014), an STC Summit presentation (2010) or webinar, or an STC chapter meeting. I think it most likely an Intelligent Content topic, but in an introductory or keynote presentation. (I found the session schedules online, http://lanyrd.com/2014/intelligentcontent/ and http://lanyrd.com/2013/intelligent-content/, and didnât see it. But thereâs a lot to look through.)

Does anyone recall this and/or can you provide the talk details or slides?

Thanks,
-Monique
