RE: least awful approach for keeping training slides up to date with core doc updates

A solution I developed for a client last year was:

Format the training notes to have the slide on the top and the guff
underneath so that the PPT can be used for both slide presentation and
printed as a document.
Use a file naming system to identify the order of the materials as well as
its edition type.
Run some VBA to pull together the appropriate slides, build a TOC based on
the slide headings, strip out any marked pure speaker text, and then the
user can print to PDF.
