I tried using OLE to place linked Excel tables to FrameMaker but
encountered problems and ended up saving the table as PDF and placing
that instead.
Similar experience with Visio and FM, I ended up exporting .emf from
Visio instead.
I've used it without problems to link Excel tables to Word and
PowerPoint. I suspect it would work fine to place Photoshop and
Illustrator in FrameMaker as well. Sharing files with other people can
be pretty fraught.
