Hello, TechWR-L-ers,

Iâm purchasing a new machine for my contract work and am wondering which version of Office and Visio I want to get for a Dell Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) machine.

Iâve used Office 2010 for the last 18 months, and think it a nice improvement over 2007. But I havenât used 2013 and so donât know if itâs pretty much the same, has new (desirable) features, is geared more to Windows 10 users, or what?

I do know that Visio 2013 has a new filetype, VSDX, that cannot be opened by Visio 2010. You have to (in Visio 2013) save it as VSD, or you can installing the Visio Compatibility Pack to get the 2010 SP2, which can then open the VSDX file. But I donât know if there are other material differences in how Visio 2010 and 2013 operate?

Looking to hear about your experience, and for your advice,
-Monique
