Acrobat Standard shared review problems w/Reader reviewers
Both would indicate that Standard can be used for the shared reviews.*HOWEVER* (at least for Acrobat 9), if you use Standard to create the
reviews, all reviewers must also have Standard (or better). If you want
reviewers to be able to use the *free Acrobat Reader*, you must use Pro to
prepare the reviews.
The Adobe forums are filled with people repeatedly discovering this andhaving a devil of a time dealing with it. There's an argument to be made
that the Standard has a bug -or- that Adobe's comparison matrix is just
plain wrong/incomplete/misleading. There actually is an awful work-around if
you do use Standard to create the shared reviews: add some specific
JavaScript code directly into the PDF object--not pretty.
Of course, after giving up and clicking Send, I finally found the link that I wanted to include, which provides the JavaScript code to add: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1195903.
So I've given this message a new subject so it can more easily be found in the techwr-l archives.
