Perhaps not what you're seeking, but worth mentioning. It is possible to
create a plugin for slides that uses DITA-OT, and there are a few tools for
using LaTeX. LaTeX can be intimidating to learn and I have not tried to use
it for yet, but I have recently started using some LaTeX tools and am
intrigued by the possibilities.
