It depends on how you set up your autonumbering and paragraph tags. If you
have separate autonumbering sequences for chapters and appendices, all you
have to do is update your autonumbering from <n> to <A>.
If you are using a single autonumbering sequence for both chapters and
appendices, it gets a bit more complicated. It would help to see it (been a
while since I had to set it up).
