For any business that operates in a regulated industry policy and procedure
manuals are far from dead. If you want to manufacture a medical device, or
sell goods or services to government or the military, or simply get
certified by a quality rating agency so you can compete with businesses
that have a quality rating already, you're going to need policy and
procedure manuals.
If you think that having a policy and procedure manual is all you need to
run a business, or think that simply having a manual will teach all your
staff how to act and behave, or that having written the manual once you
never need to look at it ever again, you deserve to nothing less than to be
forced to read condescending and superficial claptrap like the article
Craig has shared with us!
