Though I haven't used it myself, there are clever ways to do this in Word. It usually involves writing or repurposing Visual BASIC for Applications code that works with the hidden text property.ÂA retired Aussie developer created the first example I saw, perhaps more than a decade ago. If I recall correctly, he used the highlight tool.ÂThere are many examples online for the curious.Â________________

I can't find ANYTHING that tells me if Word has an equivalent or
near-equivalent way of doing this. The only thing I've seen about
conditional text seems to involve fields or forms, and I have no experience
or any real knowledge of these.
Is there any way to use Word to create more than one variant of a document?
For example, in FrameMaker I might have conditions for information that is
shown only to Internal customers, only to External customers (usually the
title and legal information), or only to a SPECIFIC customer.
