Ehhhhh, not really.  Sun was the first of those three companies to convert their internal style guide to a purchasable third party book (IBM and Xerox did earlier examples).  But I have the internal tech pubs style guides from both Sun and Apple from the early 1990s, and both were written in much the same way.  I'm assuming that Microsoft also had an extensive style guide for internal use before they produced MSTP.  Big companies had big editorial departments back then, and style guides were fairly important.
