CTRL+SHIFT+C: Copy format
CTRL+SHIFT+V: Paste format

If they have taken the time to get one paragraph to look the way they want it, they can use these two commands to format other paragraphs.

I also use Shift+F3 a lot. It toggles between lower case, title case, and upper case.

Or give this list to a few who like/are willing to experiment with Word and are communicative: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/keyboard-shortcuts-for-word-HP005186664.aspx.
Then add to your document the ones they like and use the most.

I started at this new job a few weeks ago and have been tasked to write a document explaining the lesser-known features of Word. I know my favorites but for scientists writing expert opinions, what are useful commands they may not know about?
