Certainly, it is a rather big tool for such a simple task.

But it is the only tool that I own that:
- Will save annotations as vector (the text part)
- Allow me to build a custom library of annotation styles
- Allow very quick updating of background images

It isn't perfect but I have yet to find a suitable alternative... hence the
reason for this thread. I am not too proud to admit that there might be a
better way... either by employing some clever method of avoiding
annotations altogether or some super great tool. :)
