Shawn,
I should just change my middle name to "Misunderstanding" and be done with it!
I am running XP at home, too. And I have more than one virus scanner (which I probably shouldn't).

It's going to be fun using my old XP laptop when "open season" is declared on that OS.
I think there is a misunderstanding here.
With a decent 3rd party virus scanner, the Opera browser (b/c they seem to place more emphasis on security), and staying away from untested websites and software... you have nothing to worry about with XP. It is a very mature OS so all the major bugs and security issues were long since fixed.
Keep in mind, I am speaking of running Windows XP in the home and with legacy hardware (b/c drivers for new hardware will not happen). XP no longer has any business being installed in a corporate environment, unless it is embedded or connected to a non-public network.
