LibreOffice and OpenOffice are essentially the same under the hood (the base, open-source code), but one is a bit more picky about add-ins and licensing.
I'll leave you to decide which is which.

Yes, I don't care about Visio either in the sense that I'd be happy to abandon it at both places in favor of an open source solution.

Interesting the difference between LibreOffice Draw and OpenOffice Draw -- I had been wondering how those general packages compared.

Thanks again. I like Google's stuff so I'll look into Google Draw (likely also Dia and LibreOffice Draw, just to compare).
