The Google Analytics show how the word is being written by anyone and everyone. Many of the folks whose usage is included in Google stats also write "U" for "you", but I'm certainly not going to determine my writing style based on their preferences. :)
We're writers and we're supposed to provide clarity.
I'm clearly pro-hyphen. I don't expect everyone else to be but I maintain that they aid understanding.
I do agree that it's important to be consistent in applying writing style.
