My apologies to the list, that went wrong. Let's just imagine I successfully combined the court steps with the example in my email before the court steps and go with that.... <sigh>

There are different ways to handle lists of steps. Some modern lists use graphics as step icons. (http://www-304.ibm.com/partnerworld/wps/servlet/ContentHandler/swg_av_res_quick_start)

Context is important, so I don't think there is one way to do this.
