While we await the last couple of items, I'll (Connie) take a shot at
answering these:


   1. Yes the current list address will forward to the new forum address.

   2. I think the term "email notifications" is throwing some folks off. If
   you set your preferences for email notification to enabled (check the box),
   you have configured your account to receive all of the full email
   messages--comments, replies, the link to the online location of the topic,
   etc--just like on the old system. You're not getting extra notifications of
   discussions, you're getting the actual discussions via email.

   If you set your preferences to include popups, when you're logged into
   community.techwhirl.com, you will get popup notifications of new
   comments. You can do both, or one or the other.  Right now email from the
   forum is turned off at the server, but it will be turned back on later
   today at which point you email preferences go into effect. But the old
   system is still on, which is why you can send and receive these emails.

   Yes, if you check the boxes for email notifications, you can post
   comments and reply to email without using a browser. You only need the
   browser to log in and set those preferences.

   3. When we do the final cutover, ALL discussions will live in the Forum
   (rather than on our old outdated archive server). Anything you post via
   email, via the online community, or via comments to articles on
   TechWhirl.com, will be there. The same rules and expectations apply no
   matter which channel you use to initiate or continue discussions.  The
   biggest difference is that the online forum categorizes these discussions
   into three general buckets: Technical Communications, Content Management,
   and Customer Experience Management. You can set your preferences to receive
   email messages and/or popup notifications for any or all of the categories.
    Right now almost all discussion takes place in Technical Communications,
   but that will change over time.

I hope this clarifies things a bit more. More to come later this afternoon.
