If you're always using the MBP on the mains, run the battery from 100%
down to 5% (not 30%) about once a month, then charge it fully up before
disconnecting it (of course, you can use it during that time) from the
mains.

If you're storing the battery for any length of time (I have two, and
alternate them), run it down to about 50% before storing. Recharge to full
within 3 months (TIP: set up an iCal reminder for this or you'll forget,
trust me!).
