Not now, but in the past I've checked competitors' manuals for terminology.
- Is there an industry standard term for something we're having trouble naming?
- If a customer switches to our product, will they struggle to find our feature X because in the competitor's product it's called feature Y? (In this case I might add an entry to the index such as 'BLOCK, see select'.

In theory you could check competitors' user manuals to see if their product ha s features yours doesn't, but it would probably be easier to go to their marketing material for that.
