For those of us in California, especially if you anticipate any down time or challenges with our (un)Employment office-
Find the nearest chapter of Experience Unlimited - it is a 'job club' which is hosted and sponsored by the EDD.
Aside from anything else, each club has an EDD staff member designated to assist them in dealing with claim issues.

EU is intended for managerial/professional level folks, which includes us.
